Human-Written Blogs, AI Assistance

A short note we wanted to make early. Auto-Phil's blogs are written by humans, with AI assisting. Here is why we work that way, and why we always say so.

In short

Auto-Phil's blogs are written by people, with AI assisting, and we always say which is which.

Auto-Phil writes its blogs with human authors and uses AI as an assistant, for two reasons: AI implementation is one of its three pillars, and the human-plus-AI combination produces the best content ROI. Search engines tend to reward human-written content that includes a short AI-generated summary, rather than fully AI-written posts. The guiding principle is transparency about what a human wrote and what AI wrote.

Auto-Phil writes human-authored blogs with AI assistance and clearly labels where AI is used across its content and process.

Jump to the key takeaways

We wanted to address this early. This is one of our shorter posts, but it is an important one. Our blogs are written by humans, real people on the Auto-Phil team. We use AI to assist us in writing them.

Why we work this way

  1. 1
AI implementation is one of our three pillars. It would be odd for us not to use AI to assist when we write these.
  2. 2
The combination drives the best ROI from the blog itself. A human-led process with AI as an assistant produces better content than either one alone.

Where AI actually helps

  • Custom automation. Collecting initial sources, adding a vetting pass after the author's own review, explaining complex concepts so the author understands sources faster, and building and testing models from source data.
  • Search optimization. Search engines tend to dislike content written entirely by AI. What they reward is content written by human authors that also includes a short AI-generated summary of the post.
  • AI implementation. Using AI where it is best suited, task by task, to save time and drive results. That is the whole point of the pillar.

Transparency matters

Clarity and transparency are paramount. Nearly everyone knows AI is available and could be used to generate almost anything. We strongly feel there is nothing wrong with using the tools available. Everyone just needs to be transparent about what is authored by humans versus what is authored by AI. Auto-Phil will always clearly identify where AI is used in our content and throughout our process.

Use the tools. Just be clear about what a human wrote and what AI wrote.

Key takeaways

  • Auto-Phil's blogs are written by humans, with AI assisting.
  • A human-led process with AI as an assistant produces better content than either one alone.
  • Search engines tend to dislike fully AI-written content, but reward human-authored posts that include a short AI-generated summary.
  • AI helps most with collecting and vetting sources, explaining complex concepts, and building models from source data.
  • Use the tools, but always be transparent about what a human wrote and what AI wrote.
